Connecting Google Calendar works in two directions. Your Google events show on the CourseCadence calendar so you see everything in one place, and you can turn on sync to copy your deadlines, study sessions, classes and personal events into Google. To see your schedule in Apple Calendar or another app instead, use Calendar subscription on the same page.

Connect Google Calendar

  1. In the web app, click the person icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Click Profile settings.
  3. Click Integrations.
  4. Under Google Calendar, click Connect Google Calendar.
  5. In the Google window, choose your Google account and allow CourseCadence to use your calendar.

You return to Profile settings and see Google Calendar connected. with the Google account you used. Events from your main Google calendar, from the past month to about four months ahead, now show on the Calendar page marked Google Calendar. They're read-only: you can view them in CourseCadence but not change them, and nothing in Google changes. CourseCadence reads them again each time you open the calendar, and plans study sessions around them.

Note: Signing in with Continue with Google doesn't connect your calendar. Connect it here even if you sign in with Google.

Sync your schedule to Google

  1. Go to Profile settings > Integrations.
  2. Under Sync my schedule to Google, click Turn on sync.

CourseCadence creates a calendar named "CourseCadence" in your Google account and copies in your deadlines, study sessions, classes and personal events from the past month to six months ahead. After that, it updates the Google calendar every 15 minutes. To send a change right away, click Sync now. You see Synced to Google Calendar.

Sync only goes one way. Changes you make to the "CourseCadence" calendar in Google are overwritten at the next sync, so make changes in CourseCadence.

If you see Reconnect below to grant write access before turning this on., click Reconnect, allow access in Google again, then click Turn on sync.

Turn off sync or disconnect Google Calendar

  1. Go to Profile settings > Integrations.
  2. Under Google Calendar, click one of these:
    • Turn off sync: stops copying your schedule to Google. Your Google events still show in CourseCadence.
    • Disconnect: stops sync and removes your Google events from the CourseCadence calendar.

After Turn off sync, the button changes back to Turn on sync. After Disconnect, the section shows Connect Google Calendar again.

Important: Both options delete the "CourseCadence" calendar from your Google account, including any changes made to it there. Your other Google calendars aren't touched.
